AGM 2016:

-

Waterloo Pool League AGM 2017

The Annual General Meeting of the Waterloo Pool League will take place at Spots & Stripes on Tuesday, 10th October, at 7.30. As usual, it will be followed by the presentation of prizes for the 2016-17 year.

At the AGM we will, as usual, receive reports from officers of the association, discuss and vote on any motions to amend the constitution or the binding tournament rules, and elect officers to the committee.

Please not that, unusually, ALL FIVE committee posts will be up for re-election this year. This is because last year's AGM was inquorate,  so existing committee members had no choice but to exercise their power to co-opt others into the vacant positions. Under constitutional rules, any position filled by co-option will be subject to formal election at the next available opportunity. So, at this AGM, the positions of Chair and Treasurer are due to come up for re-election for a two-year period, while the positions of Secretary, Registrar and Tournament Director must be subject to election for a further one-year period.

Anyone who is interested in submitting their name for election to any of the committee posts must do so in advance. No nominations will be taken from the floor. Anyone who wishes to submit a motion must also do so in advance. This is so the motion can be properly prepared by the committee and if necessary any ambiguities clarified. Nominations and motions should be sent by email to the Waterloo Pool League - admin@waterloopool.co.uk by the end of the day on Saturday 30th September, and will be passed to the chair for preparation the following day. Please provide contact details as the Chair may need to get in touch with you. Items to  be added to the normal agenda for discussion under Any Other Business should  be sent to the Chair - D.Obyrne@roehampton.ac.uk by Sunday 8th October.

Please contact the Committee if you have any queries.

Any individual member of the Waterloo Pool League is entitled to attend, and vote at, the AGM, and to stand for a post on the Committee. An individual member is defined as anyone who has paid subscription(s) to the league in the preceding year. This excludes any individual who is deemed to owe money to the league. Non-members wishing to observe will be excluded from voting or standing for election.

I hope to see you all at the AGM where you have the chance to influence the direction and development of your league. We value your input - please take this opportunity to help us help you.

Darren O'Byrne

Chair
