Connor Tracy - RIP
Here are some of Dhruv’s words about Connor, spoken prior to the fixtures on Tuesday 28th Oct:
A lot of you know that unfortunately, Back To Bottling (and previously Back To Baulk)’s teammate and close friend Connor Tracy tragically passed away in West Virginia earlier this month, having taken his own life.
He had a lot going on in his life here, and just wanted to get away from it all, so naturally to avoid about thinking about his life in the UK, he joined a pool club in Miami and then Charleston with none of us knowing where he was for 4 months, but it’s still good to know he spent the last few weeks of his life doing what he loved.
I think it speaks volumes about him as a person that I’ve had messages from so many of you and from the wider pool community, around the sadness and shock everyone’s feeling right now and the impact he had on all of us.
He was part of Spots for a few years, started out being not very good at pool but in just one season, was one of the most improved players I’ve come across - having joined interleague, then county, winning a few big university pool tournaments, most recently topping the singles stats at the British Regions Tournament last year.
Although as some of you know, he was scared of the middle pockets and not once did I see him play the right pattern to a clearance, but that boy could pot, and he always played with his heart and soul in the game and always respected and got along with every opponent he played.
Obviously, we’re going to miss him massively - he’s left a hole in the team that’ll be impossible to fill. But I’d ask all of you to think of him today whilst you’re playing, think of any good memories you had together but also think about and support each other. We’re individual teams but one community who fucking love pool.
