Waterloo Masters 2023-2024
Following the success of the Waterloo Masters in previous seasons, this tournament will again be staged towards the end of the 2023-24 season.
Having reduced the number of qualifying players back to 16 last year to finish all rounds in one night, the increase to 16 teams in the league means the format will be simplified further this season as follows:
Having reduced the number of qualifying players back to 16 last year to finish all rounds in one night, the increase to 16 teams in the league means the format will be simplified further this season as follows:
Best player from each team qualifies (as outlined in the weekly player stats), with the top 8 ranked players forming Pot A and the remainder in Pot B.
The draw will remain fluid until all league fixtures have been played and the player stats finalised.
If the eventual best player from any team can't attend the Masters night, their spot passes down just once within their team, as long as their second-best player finishes higher than the lowest-placed best player from any team in the final player stats - otherwise, the place will pass to the highest-ranked player in the league who hasn't already qualified through their respective team.
Any replacement player will go directly into Pot B; if a player originally in Pot A has to be replaced, the highest-ranked player in Pot B at that time will move up.
Last 16 ties consist of one player from each pot, no seeding otherwise.
Races to 3 in all rounds except final, which is race to 4
